On Oct. 11, after months of construction and delays, White River Dental celebrated a milestone. We dedicated our new dental office. Located at 2380 Merchant Mile in Columbus, Indiana, the new facility boasts a waiting area as large as our current dental office, plenty of room to grow, and state-of-the-art dental equipment. We celebrated the new building with a ribbon cutting and open house, attended by WIN 104.9 and many community supporters.
A Year of Changes at White River Dental
Opening the new building really marks the capstone for a year of changes at our Columbus dental office. From 2016-17, we added two doctors to our staff. Dr. Gregory Velligan, DDS, hails from northern Indiana and graduated from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1990. He has been practicing dentistry for 27 years. Dr. William Johnson, DDS, graduated in the IU School of Dentistry in 2007 and completed an anesthesiology fellowship at Wishard Memorial Hospital. As White River Dental’s sedation specialist, he makes sure our patients receive the best anesthetic care possible.
During the year, we’ve also added IV sedation dentistry and the Solea Laser. With IV sedation, we’re able to relax anxious patients so they can receive needed oral care. And the Solea Laser provides a virtually pain-free experience without the whirring and noises of traditional dental equipment.
A Big Entrance
Both these dentists, IV sedation, and the Solea Laser are now at our new dental office, which itself is worth celebrating. Upon arriving, you’ll see why. The front entrance of the new building is the same size as our entire old office. The extra-wide, handicap-friendly entrance leads to a waiting area, which provides seating for dozens of patients. There’s also a kids’ play zone, which has children’s movies playing continuously. Also in the lobby has a hot and cold beverage station.
Inside the New Dental Office
The new facility boasts 7,100 feet of floor space, and there’s room to expand. Inside, the new office houses four hygiene rooms, five standard procedure dental rooms, and three surgery rooms. Also in the new building are quiet rooms, available for patients who require less stimuli or additional privacy. The building also has a dedicated lab for fabricating dental prosthetics. Overall, the interior offers a soothing atmosphere among modern décor.
Outside, the facility offers 65 parking spaces. Also outside is a 80kW Cummins standby generator, so patients (and our staff) never have to worry about the power going out in the middle of a procedure.
Equipped with the Best
We’ve made sure our new facility is equipped with only state-of-the-art technology to provide our clients the very best care and comfort. Besides the Solea Laser and sedation equipment, we house an ORTHOPHOS XG 3D device for digital 3-D X-rays. The XG machine is special because it provides clearer and more comprehensive X-rays than other X-ray systems, and it emits only 20 percent of the radiation of traditional dental X-rays. Other technology we use at our new facility include a Cerec™ crown machine, intraoral cameras, and top-of-the-line dental chairs, the same kind used in the White House.
Come and see all we have to offer for yourself. White River Dental is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
